About Us
Reminiscent of a Virginia horse farm, Barking Fox Guest House is located 45 minutes from Asheville, North Carolina (home of the Biltmore Estate), 40 minutes from Greenville, SC and just 20 minutes from the Tryon International Equestrian Center.
Guests have remarked time and time again how the ambiance of the farm reminds them of Old Virginia. The peaceful and tranquil feeling from watching horses graze simply overtakes you and lets the fast paced and stressful world fade away.
The pristine dog-friendly guest cottages are tastefully decorated with antiques. Chandeliers, large crown molding and 11 foot ceilings give a wonderful atmosphere of luxury and romance. Relax at the end of the day in the whirlpool tub or prepare a home cooked meal in the kitchen with granite counter tops.
When you arrive you will be greeted with complimentary wine. For breakfast the refrigerator has milk and eggs. The baked goods that we serve are from an incredible local bakery 10 North Trade Cafe and Bakery. All the baked goods are made purely from scratch with all natural quality ingredients. They are baked in small batches to insure freshness. There are temptations such as Sweet Potato Pecan, Orange Cranberry, Walnut Fig, Blueberry Banana and Apple Loaves!
The doggie traveler isn't forgotten either. Dog biscuits are waiting as well as a very cushy doggy bed.
Upon your departure you are invited to take a horseshoe with you for luck and to remember your stay with us.
Because our first guest house has been so well received, we now have two guest houses. Each cottage contains a bedroom with queen sized bed, bathroom with whirlpool tub, fully equipped kitchen and living room. In addition the new guest house has it's own private deck overlooking one of the pastures.
