The first step across the threshold always takes guests by surprise.
Laurel Cottage, named after our youngest son's first horse, has
marvelous large crown moldings and a Dutch baroque chandelier to create
an elegant atmosphere. It is tastefully decorated with antique
furniture and part of our antique picture frame collection. The floors
are all tile and covered with oriental area rugs.

The bedroom furniture is part of my grandmother's bedroom set. There is
a queen size Simmons Beauty rest mattress for a restful night's sleep as
well as a very cushy doggie bed. The living room has a satellite
television as well as a Simmons Hide-a-Bed for that extra guest.
The kitchen has mahogany cabinets and is fully equipped with stainless
steel appliances and a charming pasture view. The whirlpool tub in the
spacious bathroom adds an additional touch of luxury. On your first step
outside the door of Laurel Cottage you are greeted with sweeping views
of the pastures and the main house. The atmosphere is so serene you
feel as though you have left the pressures of the modern world behind
you, but you are only minutes from downtown Landrum and Tryon.
This area is in the middle of North and South Carolina's horse country.
In the pastures there are many different breeds of horses. A Percheron
French Draft Horse, Paint Horses, Quarter Horses and our 30+ year old
Racking Horse, Sonny. |
